No. 3 Georgia holds No. 17 Florida to 8 points
Change my mind: Georgia is the best team in the country.
The short version
No. 3 Georgia beat No. 17 Florida 27-8 on the same night No. 2 Ohio State lost at USC.
By the numbers
The trend: Kirby Smart was 7-2 against Florida heading into the 2025 meeting, per Fox Sports.
No. 3 Georgia beat No. 17 Florida 27-8. Linebacker Chris Cole returned a fumble for a touchdown, and the defense kept a ranked rival out of the end zone.
On the same night, No. 2 Ohio State lost at USC. Kirby Smart's team did not blink. Give us one team you would take over Georgia on a neutral field.
The bottom line
Georgia's defense travels. Until someone scores on it, the Dawgs are the team to beat.
